LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate Review

When the new LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate arrived there was a flurry of excited squeals from my 5 year old twins. For a long time they have wanted a tablet of their own, so they were beside themselves to finally get their wish.

The LeapPad Ultimate was really easy to set up following the ‘Quick Start Guide’, which takes you through 5 simple steps to get you started. We were able to set up multiple user profiles so that both my little ones could log into their own profile which stores all of their learning progress and adjusts their individual learning level as they go using the ‘Just for Me™ feature. I was able to set their school year level, so that their play and learning experience was at the right level for them right from the start, which then grows with them.

The LeapPad Ultimate comes with everything you need to get started; charger, rechargeable battery that lasts up to 5 hours, USB cable and nifty soft-ended stylus pen.

This kid-safe tablet is preloaded with heaps of fun and educational content to help in all key learning areas, such as mathematics, reading and science as well as music, puzzles, logic and creativity. My twins started their first year at school this year so it is a great way to support their learning and help them grow and have fun at the same time.

My twins love the 2 way camera function and enjoy taking many photos, selfies and videos, which gives me so much pleasure taking a sneak peak into the world from their eyes when I scroll through their photo and video shoots. The most popular Aps in our house at the moment are definitely the Pet Pal Puppies, which are super cute, the Letter Factory and the UltraBook which tells stories whilst encouraging them to read along.

The LeapPad Ultimate is pretty tough, featuring a built-in bumper, reinforced design and shatter-safe so it’s well equipped to withstand knocks and bumps making it a really easy option to take on long car trips to keep the kids entertained while not worrying too much about it coming to any harm.

Everything that my little ones have played so far has been preloaded content, which has kept them happily entertained. However, there are plenty of options to download fun award winning games, eBooks, apps, videos, music from the online learning library, opening up a whole world of educational games and activities to choose from. There are also plenty of additional LeapPad game cartridges available to purchase too, so there is no risk of running out of ways to play and learn.

While the LeapPad Ultimate has WIFI connection everything that the kids can access is controlled by the parents making it completely age appropriate and safe giving us parents peace of mind while our little ones learn and play.

LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate is a great way for kids to explore a huge range of educational games designed to spark their imaginations, drive their creativity, stimulate and grow their minds in a safe and fun way.

For children from three to nine years, the LeapPad Ultimate and Carry Case Bundle is available.
