Safi Beauty Room Review

It’s been a long time since I have taken any time for myself and after 6 years and 4 children I figured it was about time I did. If I was going to indulge I was going to do it properly and I did – I was treated to a Hot Stone Massage that was simply sublime.

I had never heard of a ‘Hot Stone Massage’ before I cannot believe that no one had ever told me about this until now. I can assure you that once you have done it once, you will want to go over and over again. Image from Safiroom’s Webpage

I arrived at a lovely little café in Bilgola and was greeted by a welcoming warm and friendly face who escorted me around the back of the café to her treatment room. Although the sanctuary was not yet complete, the mood had already been set and it was easy to feel like you were being whisked away to a secluded resort just for you.

As I entered a quiet little ambient room the smell of orange blossom and lavender filled the air and I already began to feel relaxed. The room had been thoughtfully set out, bringing the best of any spa retreat all into one room. Janine, the owner and expert in her field was so welcoming, professional and intuitive that I instantly felt like she knew me and exactly what I needed.

Then as I lay on the massage bed staring at a bowl of orange blossoms and engraved stones not really knowing what to expect, I began to sink deep into the bed as the hot stones were massaged into my feet and legs. While initially I began to work through my ‘To do list’ as I had expected, it wasn’t long before I couldn’t think about it anymore. Before I knew it I had drifted off to another world and as the hot stones massaged my achy back I could hear noises of a tropical rain forest and the rest of the world seemed to disappear around me.

]It’s difficult to explain the place I drifted to because I was at such peace that I forgot to make mental notes to record later, which I guess is exactly what was intended by the lovely lady that took me there and I was so grateful for the experience I found myself needing to give her a hug at the end.

I have honestly never felt so relaxed and distant from all of my usual stresses that I wanted every Mum to feel like this…every Mum deserves this.

This hidden little retreat is tucked away behind a lovely little café, so if you want to make that relaxed feeling last a little longer you can continue the indulgence with the beverage of your choice in the café just to finish off the experience.
